Why are we doing this as a school?
– We want the best outcomes for our students and we want the best teaching and learning
our students can have.
– Finishing earlier on a Thursday will mean extra training for your teachers so that we can
deliver the best lessons possible.
– We passionately feel that any reduction in the school day will not hinder progress.
Students
– If in Year 11 next year, there will be no revision on a Thursday but you will have revision
every other day.
– Detentions will still run on a Thursday. Homework clubs will run, so if school finishing
earlier is a problem you have a place to work. Other after school activities e.g. sports
fixtures may run, where possible.
Parents
– We have tried to ensure that the school days finish is not significantly early but will enable
you to collect your child, then other siblings at other schools after.
– If you want your child to stay in school until 3.10 – we have opportunities for your child to
do that, with a few clubs running to support this.
