The Carnegie award is given to the best children and young adult book written that year. Here at Aston Manor we have our own Carnegie Club where we get to read the eight shortlisted books for this exciting award.
As we follow the books from their nomination to the announcement of the winner this process is called ‘shadowing’ and it began this year on Thursday 15th March and will end when the winner is announced on Monday 18th June.
See Miss Rowley in D15 if you would like to join this club and read as many books as you can!
The Carnegie website is the official, national Carnegie website where you can find all the information about the short-listed books, the authors and read reviews written by pupils all over the country!
As a school, we also have our own Carnegie review site, set up with the help of Carnegie and included on their national site so anyone can find us and see what we have to say about the books. This is also where you can take part in polls, see what books are popular in school this week and read all the reviews written by our very own pupils.
