School Closure – Home Learning Support
Remote teaching and learning
As a school, we have taken steps to ensure that the our students can continue their learning in this uncertain time. Part of this learning requires students to engage in lessons that are to be completed over the internet via a web browser or an app.
Click here to take a look at our remote learning rules and guidance for all students.
All staff and students are made aware as to the school’s arrangements with remote teaching and learning. Firefly is our main platform which is used across the school. Students have been set tasks/assignments on Firefly and are expected to complete work within the given timeframe. All key stages and all pupils have access to Firefly/GCSEPod and Office 365 (Microsoft Teams) all of which is being used. All pupils and staff have been briefed on the arrangements and departments have been making arrangements to ensure pupils can continue to make academic progress in their subjects.
To maintain a clear routine for your children, we recommend children follow their usual school timetable which can be viewed on Firefly. Students also have a copy of this in their student planner.
For more help and advice on how to help your child with their home learning, please click on our home learning guidance document.
Please click here to look at this document which covers the curriculum content each year group follows for each of their subjects. This highlights what the students should be working on in their given subjects as well as providing useful subject specific links/resources.
Should students/parents wish to seek support; students are encouraged to contact their form/subject tutor via school email. Please take a look here for a list of emails for staff.
